Michael: Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the RV cabinet catch and strikes. This is going to replace the catch in your RV cabinet. And it's going to allow you to ensure that your cabinet doors stay closed so that you don't have to worry about them slamming shut, or flying open as you're traveling down bumpy roads in your RV and potentially allowing any of the contents of your cabinet to fall out. These are going to make sure that that door stays securely closed. These do work with any style of cabinet and you can see they do have a brass construction, so they are going to be very sturdy and reliable.
They do come with four different strikes to ensure that you can use them in your situation so that whatever depth you need there, you can use the strike that's going to work for you. They also include the mounting screws to get this all mounted in place.And this does come with a limited lifetime warranty. Now, the one thing that I will say about this kit, the measurements that come from the manufacturer, list this as a five eighths inch strike, this as a three quarter inch strike, this one as a seven eighths of an inch strike, and this one as a one inch strike. My measurements conclude that they are only counting from above this mounting plate. So I'm going to give you the measurements that include the mounting plate, because that makes more sense to me as you will actually be mounting this on top of your frame of your cabinet, so you'll want that full measurement.
So this shortest one, I would say that it is about seven eighths of an inch. This next shortest one is right about one inch. Our third is about an inch and an eighth, and then our fourth one is about an inch and a quarter. So keep that in mind and make sure that this is going to work for you, whatever measurement you need.It is nice that they give you the four different options to ensure that you can set it up the way that you need it. But I just want to make sure that you are getting the correct measurements for your situation.
This bracket does have the spring loaded closing latch there, so it will ensure that everything is nice and sealed up tight. And that's pretty much all there is to this RV cabinet catch and strike. I decided not to use this as it ended up not being a good fit for my need. This is mostly my fault.
One thing to note is that all of the strike plates are taller than the handle, so it is not good for applications where the handle and striker are on the same plane. You cannot determine this from the information provided on the web site.
Hopefully I’ll find another use for it.
One latch broke after about 10 months but the spare is fine !

Could not get the striker to pull back, can't open this way. Only got it to move by pressing the end that would be under the holder. The construction of it otherwise is good, but not usable this way.

I had looked at a number of RV parts replacement websites and had no luck.
